So I’ve been working basically 7 days a week lately. Sadly, it means there’s not much time for me to make stuff. I have the next 2 days off, so after I clean the apartment and pay some attention to the cat, HOPEFULLY I can finally finish the dress I cut and the other dress I’m altering and the third dress I’m turning into a shirt…
Last week, I did manage to finally kind of get the hang of crochet and made my first granny square!

I used the purlbee granny square project instructions and watched this video. I’ve honestly never been able to do anything but build a foundation chain. What I really want to do is replicate the cath kidston crochet square blanket.

We had them in the store and I never bought one because they were really expensive, but I figured out that I can make one out of really nice, soft Peaches N Creme cotton yarns for around $50. This yarn is my favorite cotton yarn and it’s so inexpensive when you order it directly from the Elmore-Pisgah mills. It’s almost impossible to find in NYC, but it’s so much softer and a much better color selectiona than Sugar and Cream or any of the Lion Brand cottons. It will cost quite a bit of time, but I’m excited to tackle this project. I still haven’t decided if I want to do a blue or a green one.
The only other thing I’ve made lately is a new batch of pinback buttons for A Place To Bury Strangers. They leave for Europe today or tomorrow and they gave me 3 new designs for buttons.

I’m so excited for them- Europe this month, and this fall, opening for Nine Inch Nails! Check their MySpace for the tour schedule and see if them you can.
