I love their canisters and tea sets- it’s very mid century Danish looking and adorable. Very Orla Kiely-esque.

We almost didn’t go this year. But it would have been like missing Christmas or Thanksgiving or one of our birthdays. So we drove up just for the afternoon and it was perfect as always! Apple Cider, Maple Cotton Candy, sheep dogs, SHEEP and goats, alpacas, llamas, and YARN!

I fondled tons of yarn, drooled at all of the Creatively Dyed, Miss Babs, Bijou Basin, Blue Moon, all the farm fresh handspun yarns… I only bought 4 skeins of yarn thanks to a self imposed Very Strict Budget, but I’m really excited about those 4 skeins. Being that I’m obsessed with Cormo, I got Foxhill Farm and 2 from Stonesthrow Farm. I also one skein of merino/angora Rainbow Yarn!

I finished my Aidez just in time for the festival…

This pattern is absolutely perfect. I love the sweater so much! It’s the perfect length, super cozy, and an interesting knit. But when we got home, I decided to add pockets to the front.

My notes on adding the pocket: Pick up 18 stitches along the purled edge of the ribbing section. Then knit a panel in pattern (p2, k1tbl, seed wishbone pattern, k1tbl, p2, etc) for 2 whole seed wishbone patterns, plus 7 rows. Then k1p1 for 3 rows. Bind off in ribbing. Attach the pockets by sewing the edge stitches in under the cross stitch cables.

The foliage wasn’t as orange and red as I was expecting, which hopefully means we’ll have more color next weekend for our wedding!!! EEEEEEEP!

Going to the Chapel…

Dixie Cups- Going to the Chapel Our wedding is heading toward us at top speed and I’ve been working like a maniac to get all the little details finished. It’s a lot of work, but so much fun! I love the expansive free reign on creativity! I get to sew, knit, cut and paste- use ribbons, tissue paper, wood, yarn, silk, satin and lace. It’s the biggest craft project I’ve ever worked on and it’s absolutely amazing! Among the things I am making are: our invitations, my dress, the table markers, favors, bridesmaids’ gifts, my wedding band, a photo station, a few decorations, our desserts…

These aren’t the best pictures and I appologize, but I realized it’s been ages since my last post and I wanted to give you a sampling of what I’ve been up to! After the wedding, loads of pictures, don’t worry!

De-Stashing

I’ve been trying to use up some of my HUGE stash of Brown Sheep Lamb’s Pride Bulky. When I first started knitting, I thought this was such a fancy yarn! And the bulky yarns would knit up so quickly, so I collected up tons of this yarn.

I’ve finally set my mind to clearing it out of my stash.

Yarn: Various scraps of sport/dk/light worsted yarns- greens are Quince and Co, yellow is a Zara, blue is Karabella, red is Ella Rae, lavender is Shelridge Farm, not sure what the white and gray are.

Friendship Swap!

Jen of Grainline Studio and Hound Design hosted a friendship bracelet swap- leave a comment on her post and get paired up with another commenter, then send each other bracelets and/or anklets. Fun! It brought me back to elementary school, what with the macrame and the pen pals and letter writing… so fun!

I got matched with Gale of Wichser Studio, whose blog is so inspiring!

Marina Ulmer sells patterns for $1 each, and has incredibly clear and concise directions. She’s also very friendly, generous, and gets your order to you within 24 hours. I ordered 10 patterns, and she sent me about 18!

Baby Rondeau’s Sweater

Our friends Jen and Paul are expecting a little boy next month, and they had their baby shower last weekend at the amazingly gorgeous p-13 office. I didn’t take any photos of the space because I was in a sleep deprived delirium, but it was perfect and beautiful and creatively inspiring. I just hope someday I can transform my workspace into something as beautiful.

Anyway, I knitted the new baby a sweater!

Stocking up…

I’ve been working day and night to make inventory for a market we’ll be selling at this weekend… Here are a few pictures of all the fun.

making heart rings… I know they look misshapen, but after soldering them, I round them out then attach the hearts.

After hours of polishing silver with a rouge compound. Basically, I was covered in red clay dust. It looked much worse in person- you could see where my goggles kept part of my face clean like a movie ski tan.
